The Inspiration In Us All

The inspiration for my stories come from a dark place. Like a lot of writers, my writing is based off personal experience which translates into the story lines and characters I create. It is my way of dealing with a lot of stuff going on in my life and my head.
Writing this TV series has shown me my dark side in a lot more depth. I love finding out more about myself with every page. And every page gets better the more I know.
Inspiration, I have found, comes from anywhere when you know where to look, or when not to look. Sometimes widening your view can help you to focus. Stepping away from the focal point opens up your mind and lets you see your work from a wider and new point of view. It can help with writers block.
Today I'm on a boat, with some friends, watching the sunrise. And I've just written three pages for a story idea I came up with an hour ago. It's not what I was expecting to happen on a night out but that is what I am trying to get at. Inspiration can some from anywhere.
It is in us all.
